So this is my Welcome Present, huh, Luka? Some people are saying how they want me to switch out of this class. Aw, how mean . :_( Ms. Nakada is asking about the Writing Process and Sergio is yelling all over the place and being all Sergio-ish. Karina is saying how Eli is being mean to her, as usual. Karina needs glasses really badly, so I let her use my glasses since I'm a super nice person. :) So just now we finished taking the test, and personally I don't think it was hard. Ugh, I'm so bored here. I hope we start doing something soon. Yay! Now we are going to continue watching The Outsiders! Bye bye .

Sadly Citlalli picked me to do the blog,(thanks a lot).When we got in the classroom Eli started bragging
about his new seeker rod and daiwa reel. Ms. Nakada told us she wont we won't see her until Friday some people started cheering. :( Now Ms. Nakada continued The Outsiders movie. I'm so bored I can't see anything from here. Thanks allot Citlalli. Soon Juanito (wombat) walked in with a tardy note and slowly took his seat. At least I'm not the only one bored. Fredrick looks like he's sleeping. Another thing Eli is bragging about is the overnight tuna tip in San Diego that Owen is taking him on. I'm so bored I'm looking at Hastings in a prom dress and duck costume (I think I'm scarred for life).

       Ok so great , Juan chooses me to do the blog -_____- . We all get in class while me and Karina are so lost asking "Did we really walk that slow from Mrs. Nagles to Ms. Nakadas?" So, we finally get settled down and Ms. Nakada has people passing out the essay and the idiom worksheet to see how we're doing in class. After that she tells us we have a book report due this Friday :o At least we have no school this Thursady ^ . ^ . The book report is out of 20 points and we have to fill a little slip paper. If you lost it you can find it at the front of the class room. We finally started watching the movie again and everyone is so into the movie. Right when Johnny and Ponyboy get to the church we had to pause the movie because of an "important anouncment" after Ms. Nakada accidently closed the box thing to close the movie and everyone "aws" and the class is finally over but people want to keep watching the movie, oh well. (:

The bell rang and Tatiana read the blog she had written yesterday, and when she was done she had to choose someone... There were some calls for Luka but in the end (thanks Erick...) she chose me. Oh well, I guess I'll do another blog after the one in Homeroom. Anyways, Ms. Nakada started reading The Outsiders, Eli followed, then Owen... God, I'm tired! Woahh, Johnny dies? Lol. I wish Kian stopped talking to me *sigh* Haha, Brandon sneezed while he was reading, then someone else sneezed and everyone started cracking up. Eh, Eli is blowing his nose right beside me... I better watch out for flying boogers :) This is not a great blog, is it? Ehh, Ms. Nakada told us to get our vocabulary out and then she explained something about Grammar Structures... Conjuctions, subordination and coordination, and appositives.  It's 10:12... God, I'm hungry! Yay! we're watching The Outsider's Movie!  Guess this it for today.

Right now they are reading The Outsiders. That is a pretty good book...I thought it was going to be boring but it's not that bad! (: Hahaha...my eyes hurt... and I'm sleepy! I don't want to do this blog thing... I feel like I'm far far away from everyone else.! I think I'm sick! -_________-  
People are disscusing about who's who on the cover of the book. I'm going to keep this blog short but not that short...WHAT!! I HEARD SOMETHING ABOUT CHOCOLATE CAKE! I WANT SOME!!!!!! LOL jk jk. :D
They're still talking about the book! Grrr I want to leave... NOW!! ummmmm ummmmmm I have no idea what to write. Well, anyway everyone just took out their Outsiders book and yeah still going still going still going. Uhhhhh forget that. I can't believe I'm doing the blog. At first I was hoping I never had to do it but then again there are people who just crush your dreams: Karina. Ok now I have nothing else to write about. I think everyone is dead because it's quiet. I mean really, really quiet but anyway everyone is reading. OMG, hurry up Ms. Nakada! I'm about to die. Ok it been about 5 minutes and nothing I'm not kidding 5 minutes. 13 minutes. I'm just looking at the clock as time passes. Ok, after 19 minutes we move on. Notes, ewwwwww notes. I got nothing down. Sorry. We wrote notes on idioms, analogies, metaphors and similies. We also wrote down our scores. I don't plan to write everything that happened only that I yelled that I hate Karina with a passion. Idiom Review
Hw- RJ 2.1- 2.5 DUE MONDAY!

    Okay so... I'm just supposed to write what happend today. We all entered class and started talking, it took a while to get settled. OH I forgot, Mrs. Nakada isn't here. So we have a substitute, Mr. Jones. I accidently called him Mr. Oaks this morning. We all were supposed to start reading, but Owen and other people went on the computer since they were done with the book. Well I think Owen was the only one that was done with the book, but like 800 other people went on the computers. I was talking for a while, but I eventually started reading.  And then Justin went up to read his blog, and sadly chose me EVEN THOUGH I TOLD HIM NOT TO. Oh well I don't really mind. Ugh its hard typing with correct spelling and punctuation. When I went to sit down to write the blog Mr. Jones handed out an Idiom paper, which im not doing since im doing this blog thing. You know this is alot better than Ms. Bermans class she used to make a person write down the agenda and homework in this little awkward composition book in the front of the class. Ow my lip hurts. Oh my god the door keeps knocking. That makes no sense, I meant that people keep knocking on the door, I guess there peeing. They keep taking the backpack with polka dots to the bathroom, I guess that's the bathroom pass. I don't know if i'm supposed to be doing the Idiom paper, oh well whatever.

     Ugh, I just found out I have to do the Idiom Paper... im crying. How am I supposed to do the Idiom Paper AND the blog. You know Citlali wanted to do the blog, but i thought it would be fun to do the blog... its not. This is boring. Really boring. And I still have to do the Idiom Paper.. I don't want to. Ow my heal hurts. Now im just writing pointless things.. i should stop. I remember owens blog was like super long. Im gonna stop. Sergio's standing right next to me, and making this really annoying sound, at least he's not screaming. Everyone either poking me, trying to annoy me, or critisizing me. Sergio just said i was a failure. He screamed in my ear. And chester (erick) just poked me. Eli wanted me to write about me sooo HIIII.. someones playing super mario bros. YOU KNO JESUS HAS THE SAME BIRTHDAY AS ME! :D Chester didn't believe me, but then found out the truth about our birthdays. I love you sergio, but sadly he doesn't. Aw he's laughing at me. Well since im in love with sergio he will have to do the next blog. <3  <-- thats a heart. Aw chester just said he loved me because i'm choosing sergio next, but I think he just loves me.. well BYE :)

Today I was chosen to write this blog. I didn't mind though. So we entered class and like always. Ms. Nakada wanted us to take out our Binder Reminders to write down the agenda. After writing down the agenda, Ms. Nakada wanted to check our reading journal to see if we done it or not. After checking our journals, we went straight to reading The Outsiders aloud. Ms. Nakada started first then the class read after. Then Eli told Ms. Nakada that if her camera was on but it was charging. Ha ha. Well, anyway, while reading chapter 5, Eli and some of the class had trouble reading. Finishing reading chapters 4 and 5, the students wanted to type down their perfect paragraphs about the topics we students chose Tuesday.  Ms. Nakada handed out the alpha smarts and instructed us how to use them. Then they started typing away on there alpha smarts. After the students were finished with their perfect paragraph, we were to go to the computer lab but Ms. Nakada changed her mind. When Ms. Nakada mentioned that we had to write another set of notes, the class started to complain. Ms. Nakada told the class to start Cornell Notes on the Elements of Plot. While Eli continues to blow his nose right next to me, Ms. Nakada puts down the questions down on the notes. We ended up finishing the the day with no injuries or problems. Just a boy named Eli who have may caught a cold.

At the beginning of class Owen read his blog which was very, very long. Then Ms. Nakada said that she feels sorry for herself because she has Owen in her class..... Eli's like, "Ooooh you just got roasted." While it took a while to calm down everyone got out their Outsiders book and reading journal and read supposedly. 


Everyone stared taking about my Mr. Hastings. Karina's like I love you and so did Eli.
Then Eli still didn't get the homework and they had a whole conversation on what the homework was.
Sergio started talking about how sexy he was or at least thought he was.
We started working on the step up to writing thing.
Hastings came in the room with some coffee for Nakada only. Ssshh what about me, his best student that he had last year? I was good too. 
My ears hurt now because of all the screaming when Hastings came in.
We really haven't gotten anything done in this class today.
Everyone started saying whose day it is to rip on. We were suppose to be workin and everyone just yelling out loud. Then Shawn came in. All out of the sudden everyone gets working. OOOOPPPSSS I almost forgot. Today we are learning about the perfect paragraph and also today is a short day. Nobody knows what to write their paragraph on. I'm just typing down what I hear. I know, it's really confusing and random. I'M SORRY:( .Nobody in this class can stay really quiet. Oh, yeah, we do not see Ms. Nakada tomorrow. Well, time to pack up got to go bye. I <3 you.

The Writing Process
HW R.J. 2.1 T.O. Ch. 3

We get into class and write down our agendas in our new Binder Reminders. Not too long later, Ms. Nakada calls up Ghenet to read the blog that she wrote last Friday. Of course, Ghenet complained, but was soon convinced that there would be a prize at the other side. It was nothing and I am pretty sure all Ghenet wanted to do was nothing.

Our next task of duty was to turn in the Summer Assignments that Most of us placed sufficient effort. The project was originally given to Ms Jacobson's former class; the people who were not in the class were able to do the project on any book they had read over the summer. For some reason, Shawn Farrell was respectably able to turn it in a day late. I don't think Eli had it either.

Soon after, Ms. Nakada ordered us to begin our homework. Surprisingly, everyone engaged directly in their novels. After 7 minutes of beautiful and quiet reading, Darian "Snizzler" barged in the room armed with English books to ruin the moment. "**** Darian......" The moment was then rekindled (I am not sure if that is a word).

Our caring teacher then went around to check our reading journals. Disappointingly, she had to correct most of us.

After recieving our textbooks, Ms. Nakada told us to read her the last three numbers of our books. Nothing to complicated here, but of course Shawn could not figure it out. We then figure out that Danielle, Jory and Keon were not at school. Then Keon showed up and all of us were like, "What the pumpernickel? I thought he was not at school."

The writing process was then reviewed. Eli's handwriting was roasted as his stratagies were praised. I am pretty sure Mrs. Nakada just critisized my writing strategy of typing. Cornell notes was also just praised. ????????????? The note's questions were gone over as we went over our writing strategies too. We decided revising/editing was the longest part of writing for most people. Following, we were told to write an one sentence summary of what we just learned. No one could figure out that we just earned about the writing process even though it was the title of our page.

Highlighters were passed out as Ms. Nakada had us jot down that step up to writing was page 2. More Cornell notes? I think I heard my dog groaning. He does groan a lot though because he is fat and is always hungry. I heard Eli say that this is last year all over again. "I thought I was done with ESA!!!" Sorry dude. Cornell is an IVY league school and they might make you smart. (Maybe). Meanwhile, the guy next store was screaming six feet under. "Six feet down, you're DEAD." Thanks for that Mr. Grainey.

Step up to writing consists of green yellow red and blue. Topic, RDF, Examples, and Details.

The bell rang, and Ms. Nakada was not here and neither was I. We were at a fieldtrip with ESA. As soon as we arrived we went in cass and got settled in. We started to discuss on how to write stories. There were five steps to the process. 1. When pre-writting you jot down ideas on what you want to talk about. 2. Drafting is when you write it down in sentences. 3. Revising is when you read your writing and make it the best you can. 4. Editing is where you check for punctuation, spelling, complete sentences, and wording choice. 5. Publishing is the last step where you share your work and let people read it. After this she told us to write out our own steps to our writting process. Ms. Nakada then went around checking homework but the bell rang and she didn't have time to finish.

So we got into period 2 and immediately started discussing our summer assigment. We learned that all the books are on the ap reading list and are really important to read for college. We the started to go over the format of how the assigment should be formatted. Ms. Nakada then wrote a mock assignment on the book Extremely Loud and Incredbely Close. Ms. Nakada explained to us through her writing how to properly write in the 8-12 sentence format that Mrs. Jacobson asked us to write in. Shawn realized that he was not in Mrs. Jacobsons class last year and then discovered that Ms. Nakada wa doing this for the kids weren't in the class last year. Owen of course critized Ms. Nakada. After going over the summer assigment we went into our reading logs and our reading plan for the semester. Ms Nakada suggested that everyone if you haven't, read the Hunger Games series, along with many other great classics and modern books. You have to read a minium of 6 novels this semester and at least half of them must be A.R.. The books that I am going to read are:

The bell for second period rang and in strolled my first eighth grade SAS English class. It was a full house but everyone found their seats and as students wrote the agenda, I signed program cards. I passed out the course outlines and took roll. Lots of familiar faces in this class. :)

A couple of students (I think it was Owen) brought up the Oregon game on Saturday and I got a little distracted but we were quickly back on track, reading the course outline about what students can expect in Ms. Nakada's class (lots of reading and writing). I also went over homework (read 20 pages a night, people) and book projects. We talked briefly about NaNoWriMo and students got a little stressed out but I promise, it will be a challenge and a LOT of fun.

We then went over supplies (paper, pens, notebook for class notes, notebook for reading journals). Donate stuff! It will help keep our class nice!

I passed out copies of The Outsiders and reminded students to read the first chapter tonight on during ET. 

We then started our blog and in Darian came up with The Hatcher Blog :). So there we have it! Our first blog of the school year...
